Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, declares the psalmist. In Deuteronomy 4, we find Moses instructing the people of God who are about to enter the promised land to remember the commandments of God. When they get in the promised land and act according to God’s commands, other countries will see the prosperity of their ways and realize they have great wisdom.
The nation which follows God’s commands (even just the basic law and order of the 10 commandments) will display wisdom. Nations which (as America did) found their law and order on the basis of the biblical commands will display for the world the wisdom of marriages, stable families, and a Christian work ethic. Order and security and prosperity follow such ordering.
Those who turn aside from such commands turn aside from sanity. Instead of building their nation on order and stability in marriage and family, they will be left to build on perversity (or, is it diversity?). Instead of having laws against abortion, such nations will be forced to invent laws against Dasani bottled water (see below) or whatever else strikes the fancy the morality police du jour.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
