Rest in God’s Peace

I bid farewell and pay homage to a dear friend and Christian brother, Mr. Hershel M. Harper.  I have known him almost my entire life.  He was my father’s best friend.  When my father passed away 10 years ago, Mr. Hershel was greatly affected.  The Lord used the loss of my father to redirect Mr. Hershel’s life and priorities.  Today, upon entering the services at his local church, my dear friend collapsed and fell to the ground between the pews.  This would be his last earthly worship service, but we have all confidence that it was traded for one much better:  For to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord.  May the Lord Himself bless the Harper family with peace and hope in this time of loss.
