Some of you, like me, may be of a melancholy sort by natural disposition. Perhaps you are prone to emotional lulls and battle if not depression, then something sort of like it. I recommend watching this YouTube video. It has been put together by someone who uses the art of Van Gogh with the music of Don McLean, who tells Van Gogh’s story in the song, Vincent (more commonly called by its first line, Starry, Starry Night). I think it is ironic that a sad and twisted story from the tragic life of Vincent Van Gogh can actually help anyone, but the beauty of this presentation–both the art and the music–is able to help. Interesting how sobering beauty can be for us.
