An Odd Contradiction

The story linked here makes clear that a contra-gospel is at work in the world.  The story is not theological. It is political to the core, but it does a good job of pointing out the abiding contradiction of the liberal mindset.  In liberalism, there appears to be an on-going concern to protect the lives and freedoms of the guilty, while punishing or ending the lives and freedoms of the innocents.  This is a backward gospel indeed and an odd contradiction.
