We can be thankful to the Sacramento Bee for covering stories related to Christian persecution. Obviously, the best scenario would be for no persecution to take place, thereby making coverage of them obsolete. However, we know that persecution exists. Responsible reporting would demand coverage of such as a human rights concern, as well as an interest for anyone concerned with freedom.
Anyway, it is a good thing for reporters to cover stories related to persecution. Even better would be for reporters to cover stories on persecution accurately. As this Christianity Today article points out, persecution is not an easy story to cover accurately. The Sacramento Bee made some mistakes in the story.
As the Christianity Today critique points out (and we already knew), persecution still exists all over the world.
