Do Not Recycle!

I have been speaking against the "Green Ethic" for some time now.  I am considering changing the term from Green Ethic to Lunatic Ethics.  Each time the global warming group establishes an ethical norm, science gets in the way and frustrates their global balance guidelines.  Click on the headline below to see the latest example... Rejected Ad

You may have seen this already, but it not you should watch it.  Then ask yourself why NBC and the NFL do not want such a "controversial" ad to run during the Super Bowl. The group sponsoring the ad is called catholicvote.org.   I am not Catholic, and I am not real crazy about the name... Continue Reading →

Sausage Children

I saw a sign from the recent Pro-life march in Washington, D.C.  The sign said something to the effect that the bearer of it was "pro-choice," "pro-child," "pro-pigs," and "pro-bacon."  Now, that sounds like an odd combination of "pros."  It isn't.  I am not sure how the fellow intended his message to be taken, but I... Our Canary in the Cave

In days gone by, miners would send canaries into the shafts of mines if there were a question about whether the mines were safe.  Often, mine shafts would be dangerously low on oxygen.  So before fancy "sniffing" equipment was available, canaries were the sniffers.  If they died, the mine was not safe. I read a reference... Continue Reading →

Super Bowl Prep

To get your mind ready for the Super Bowl, and to help you discover the team for which you should be cheering, I have linked to this nice article.  You will so much enjoy it.  Go Cards! (P.S. I grew up a Terry Bradshaw-Lynn Swann Steelers fan.  So, they are OK with me, especially when... Continue Reading →

Repentance and a Few Changes

Regular visitors will notice immediately that the blog page has changed.  Feedback would be appreciated.  More important, I will also change the nature of the posts.  I took inventory of the posts and realized that I have neglected the persecuted church and have posted too often on political matters.  So, the change of the website... Excellent Explanation

I wrote a blog post last week about the latest Barna poll and how I basically think such polls are worthless.  However, taken on face value, they may be able to identify trends in our culture.  Dr. Mohler speaks in response to this latest poll by Barna, and his commentary is outstanding.  Read this article,... Feminists Hurt Women

Womanhood is under attack, and the reason is feminism.  Women in the 19th Century in America had reason to complain.  They were not treated equal to men.  As a result of the Christian belief that all souls are equal before their Creator, women took their complaints to the masses and much good followed.  However, the... Historic Change?

I do not have the Inauguration glow that many have today.  I think the problem is all mine.  I know this is a day for America, when we unite behind the free democratic process which has worked and delivered to us a president, an historic president (as we are so frequently reminded). Well, history is... Continue Reading →

Two Examples of Taking a Stand

I link today two good examples of Christians taking a stand against the bullying of the ACLU and AUSCS.  The first example has to do with a high school in Arkansas.  The other example concerns a locally elected vice mayor in Virginia.  Kudos to those who humbly and boldly take a stand for truth.

Pastor Bike

You have heard of Pastor Bike before, but the latest news is good (though still not great).  On a good note, Pastor Bike has just received a payment for the crimes which were committed against him and his family by the Chinese PSB authorities.  You may remember that Pastor Bike's son was beaten almost to... Watts, I, and We

There is a great song in the Baptist Hymnal titled, "Am I a Soldier of the Cross."  The tune is stale; so, our music leader freshened it up.  Our musicians livened it up even more with a military-sounding cadence, which simulates the church militant, striving to be faithful as soldiers of Christ in truth arrayed.... Urgent Action Sri Lanka

The following alert comes from the Jubilee Campaign.  I encourage you to take action. Greetings! An Anti-Conversion Bill was presented yesterday, cloaked in secrecy, for a second reading to the Sri Lankan Parliament. It is expected to go up for a Third Reading in February and likely to be passed. The Anti-Conversion Bill would have... Continue Reading →

Sin’s Resilience

Sin seeks to kill and destroy, and it never stops.  The case of 38 year-old Marcus Schrenker is a typical example of how sin seeks to destroy.  This young man, once a financial manager, swindled unsuspecting investors of millions of dollars in Indiana.  He continued to practice after his license expired.  When he was about... Defying the Doubters

Senior ESPN sports writer Pat Forde has a great article concerning Tim Tebow.  This article details why I like Tim Tebow so much and why I cheer for the Florida Gators.  In a world so jaded with cynics, Tim Tebow is good medicine.  Enjoy.
