Chris Matthews is doing his part to push America further down the road of ignorance. His rantings against Rush Limbaugh for being a classless, hate-monger ought to fall largely on deaf ears. I can see no way a thinking person can take Chris Matthews seriously. He calls Rush outrageous, but then he refers to those speaking against... Continue Reading →
It’s Good for Young Women to Be Beaten
Sharia law spreads as Islam increases. In Europe, the call for Sharia is increasing. The pressure to accept Islam has now forced an Italian judge to rule that it was ok for a father, brother, and mother to beat a young woman. The judge ruled that it was "for her own good" to be beaten... Continue Reading →
New Blogs
I am posting here a link to a new blog that features movie reviews and information about movies from a Christian perspective. Check it out if you like to know about movies. If you are into other expressions of art, check out this new blog. It features painting and art from a Christian perspective.
Head in the Sand
I have been reading about Mrs. Hassan, and I am stunned that her story is not being reported as ardently as, say, important stuff like Ted Haggard. If you don’t already know about Aasiya Hassan, you will be shocked, too. Newspapers are going out of business… and it isn’t just because of the internet. Mainstream... Continue Reading →
Significance of Wilders
Yesterday, I posted on the significance of Geert Wilders. If you haven't seen that blog, check it out because it links to a prior blog which speaks of how important this case is for all of us who value free speech. Today, there is another great article concerning this story. I have it linked here... Continue Reading →
Geert Wilders Again
I posted a warning on my blog not too long ago, telling you to pay attention to Geert Wilders. His story is portentous. It is a warning signal to us all about the direction our “tolerance” is taking us. Tolerance is taking us to a loss of freedom. Geert Wilders is no longer allowed in... Continue Reading →
An Odd Contradiction
The story linked here makes clear that a contra-gospel is at work in the world. The story is not theological. It is political to the core, but it does a good job of pointing out the abiding contradiction of the liberal mindset. In liberalism, there appears to be an on-going concern to protect the lives... Do Not Recycle!
I have been speaking against the "Green Ethic" for some time now. I am considering changing the term from Green Ethic to Lunatic Ethics. Each time the global warming group establishes an ethical norm, science gets in the way and frustrates their global balance guidelines. Click on the headline below to see the latest example... Rejected Ad
You may have seen this already, but it not you should watch it. Then ask yourself why NBC and the NFL do not want such a "controversial" ad to run during the Super Bowl. The group sponsoring the ad is called catholicvote.org. I am not Catholic, and I am not real crazy about the name... Continue Reading →
Sausage Children
I saw a sign from the recent Pro-life march in Washington, D.C. The sign said something to the effect that the bearer of it was "pro-choice," "pro-child," "pro-pigs," and "pro-bacon." Now, that sounds like an odd combination of "pros." It isn't. I am not sure how the fellow intended his message to be taken, but I... Continue Reading →
Our Canary in the Cave
In days gone by, miners would send canaries into the shafts of mines if there were a question about whether the mines were safe. Often, mine shafts would be dangerously low on oxygen. So before fancy "sniffing" equipment was available, canaries were the sniffers. If they died, the mine was not safe. I read a reference... Continue Reading →
Excellent Explanation
I wrote a blog post last week about the latest Barna poll and how I basically think such polls are worthless. However, taken on face value, they may be able to identify trends in our culture. Dr. Mohler speaks in response to this latest poll by Barna, and his commentary is outstanding. Read this article,... Continue Reading →
Feminists Hurt Women
Womanhood is under attack, and the reason is feminism. Women in the 19th Century in America had reason to complain. They were not treated equal to men. As a result of the Christian belief that all souls are equal before their Creator, women took their complaints to the masses and much good followed. However, the... Continue Reading →
Historic Change?
I do not have the Inauguration glow that many have today. I think the problem is all mine. I know this is a day for America, when we unite behind the free democratic process which has worked and delivered to us a president, an historic president (as we are so frequently reminded). Well, history is... Continue Reading →
Two Examples of Taking a Stand
I link today two good examples of Christians taking a stand against the bullying of the ACLU and AUSCS. The first example has to do with a high school in Arkansas. The other example concerns a locally elected vice mayor in Virginia. Kudos to those who humbly and boldly take a stand for truth.
